SUMMARY:ICCCAD Weekly Seminar
DESCRIPTION:The topic of the presentation:  The (informal) lives of the urban street children in Dhaka \nThis seminar aims to discuss and share knowledge among the researcher\, practitioners\, scholars\, and the children about the issues of the street children and their education.  The children will have an opportunity to interact with the audience directly to share their own experiences in their lives and will seek information from the audience about their own as well.  The purpose is to generate a knowledge-sharing and knowledge-gathering platform where everyone will likely to learn from and about each other. \nAbout the session and presenter \nICCCAD generally hosts weekly seminars where researchers’ and/or other relevant environmental professionals present their work\, experiences and lesson learned in regard to climate change and development.  The seminars are meant to increase coordination\, cooperation and technical and social skills among ICCCAD staff. \n \n \nMr Iqbal Ahmed (Visiting  researcher from Durham University\, UK) will facilitate the session with the children from (Social and Economic Enhancement Programme (SEEP)\, an NGO in Bangladesh working with street children. \nThe children will have an opportunity to participate in dialogues with scholars\, researchers\, and practitioners to discuss their own lived experiences that may create awareness and opportunities for bridging research options with ICCCAD and its partners about children’s issues.  Further\, the dialogue may also give the children an opportunity to experience a professional working environment\, a space that could be linked with their aspirations to ‘boro howa’ and ‘manush howa’.
